Agreeing to these terms
By using BTA, you agree to these terms.
These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and Behind The Aisle (“BTA”, “we”, “us”) covering thisisbta.com and everything on it. If you do not agree, please do not use BTA. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Who can use BTA
You must be at least 16, and able to agree to these terms.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you use BTA on behalf of a business, such as a planning studio, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
Your account
Keep your details accurate and your password private.
You are responsible for activity on your account. Give accurate information, keep your password secure, and tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without permission. Usernames must not impersonate others or be offensive, and we may reclaim usernames that break these rules.
What BTA provides
Planning Guides, Planning Tools and a workspace for your events.
BTA provides editorial Planning Guides, Planning Tools, a planning profile where you organise events and saved items, and The Heirloom Edit. Features marked “coming soon” are not yet available. We may add, change or remove features, and we will try to give notice of significant changes.
Planning information is guidance
Our guides and tool estimates help you plan; they aren’t professional advice.
Budget splits, price ranges, timelines and other results are estimates based on general information. They are not financial, legal or professional advice, and actual costs and requirements will vary. Check important decisions with the relevant professionals.
Your content
What you add to BTA stays yours.
You own the events, notes, tool results and other content you add. You give us permission to store, process and display it to you so we can run BTA, and to keep backups. You are responsible for the content you add, including details about other people, and for having the right to share it.
Acceptable use
Use BTA respectfully and lawfully.
When using BTA, you agree not to:
- Break the law
- Use BTA for anything unlawful, or to infringe anyone’s rights.
- Misuse others’ data
- Add personal information about others without a right to do so.
- Harm the service
- Interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to BTA or its systems.
- Scrape or copy
- Collect content or data with automated tools, or copy BTA’s content for commercial use, without our written permission.
- Impersonate
- Pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or business.
Our content and brand
Our guides, design and brand belong to BTA.
Planning Guides, Planning Tools, The Heirloom Edit, our photography and film, and the Behind The Aisle name and logo are owned by BTA or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal planning and share links to them. Any other use requires our written permission.
The Heirloom Edit applications
Applying doesn’t guarantee selection, and applying is free.
You may apply to be part of a BTA production. We review every application but cannot guarantee selection or a response. Applications are free. If you are selected, participation will be covered by a separate written agreement.
Vendors and third parties
BTA doesn’t currently connect you with vendors or take part in your bookings.
In this version of BTA, you cannot contact, message or book vendors through BTA. Any arrangement you make with a vendor is between you and that vendor. BTA may link to third-party websites and services, which have their own terms and policies; we are not responsible for them. Future vendor features may come with additional terms.
Ending your use
You can leave at any time; we may suspend accounts that break these terms.
You can delete your account at any time from Edit profile. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put BTA or others at risk, and where reasonable we will tell you why first.
Disclaimers
BTA is provided as it is.
BTA is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not promise that BTA will be uninterrupted or error-free. Please keep your own copies of important planning information.
Limitation of liability
Our liability is limited to what the law allows.
To the extent permitted by law, BTA is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to BTA is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months or US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law and disputes
Let’s try to resolve problems directly first.
If you have a concern, contact us first and we will try to resolve it informally. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Maryland, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We’ll tell you before material changes take effect.
We may update these terms as BTA grows. We will update the date at the top, and for material changes we will notify you by email or in BTA before they take effect. Continuing to use BTA after that means you accept the updated terms.
